Sometimes it happens. You can tell by the look in her eye. The quality of her character. She’s on a mission. She’s ready to transform her body.determined woman working out

It’s a win-win. A blossoming. Every day s another step forward in terms of aesthetism and impeccable health . She looks remarkably younger than her age. She has a girlish figure again.

Working out has become imbedded in her lifestyle. She doesn’t think about it anymore. She just does it. And when life gets in the way and she can’t workout, she misses it.

All I have to do, as a personal trainer, is hand her the ball and let her run with it. Others may have more of a struggle getting in to workout, but all leave with renewed commitment and an accelerated calorie-burning metabolism.

Abs is on tonight and Sat morning. Yoga is Friday with Ian. See you there! P

Stretching While Building Muscle

dulce poseTry this yogic stretching drill next time you’re on the couch. The spinal flexibility, the total surrender and relaxation, the in-the-moment-ness.

Integrate yogic stretches into your weight routine. Especially squats. You’ll know right away how effective this is by how it feels.

Before squatting with weight, hang out in a deep squat for 1 whole minute. And I mean a deep squat. Your butt should be no more than 5 inches from the floor. Come up and down 5 times to warm up the knees and hips.

Do your 10 rep of squats with weight, 6 sets. In between do yogic stretches, holding each pose for 1 minute.

Get the kinks out. You’ll enjoy the feeling of looseness and strength afterwards.

Cats are yoga. We have to practice it.

Consistency

Strive for consistency in your workout. With consistency comes exponential benefit. Not only in terms of health and fitness but psychologically.

In terms of being happy, free from neurosis, sleeping well. You see actors seemingly suspended in time. Why, because they found that consistency. Often to the degree of a professional athlete.

Consistency in working out is the big secret. Happiness is feeling strong, energetic, alive. And the only way to get that feeling, or at least the foundation of it, is regular exercise.

No classes this weekend. So come to Abs Class tonight?

Tortilla Espanola At Panacea Studio

Post-workout meal with long-time client and friend, John.  Expand the picture of the meal to see how delicious it actually is. An omelet-like tortilla with potato and cilantro inside, shimiji mushrooms and sprouts on top. Sprinkled with Valentina Hot Sauce.

At Panacea Studio, for a little more, you get a delicious gourmet meal after your workout.

Some use the food component as an opportunity to expand their repertoire of recipes. Others just enjoy eating, and forgo having to make a meal.
