Getting On A Roll

Cost matters to me. I’m sure it matters to most people.

In an ideal world, you’d eat nothing but organic and fresh catch. But we have to make the best of available options, and cost does factor in.

If you’re going to splurge, make sure it’s worth your while.

I feed a lot of people. I don’t believe it’s necessary to spend a ton of money. In the produce section, be open to what just looks good for a deal. The best chefs are opportunists. The most inspired dishes have an element of spontaneity.

With food prices soaring, try curbing the habit of making too much, and throwing stuff in the garbage (I’m talking to myself here). Take a second to evaluate the amount so nothing gets wasted.

As personal trainer I’m a working man. And I like to keep my overhead down. Because I work out of my studio instead of a gym, I don’t have to give the house %50. I split the difference with you. And even include an exemplary meal.

A trainer should provide a service affordable over the long-haul.

Hope to see you out for hot yoga on Wednesday night, or Core N Stretch Saturday mornings starting Thanksgiving weekend, October 8.

Later mi amigas and amigos. Ciao, Pietro

Core N Stretch With Pietro

I preach patience. Don’t push the stretch. Not until your body is ready for it.

In my new class Core N Stretch, you do mostly sets of 3. In some cases, as many as 6 sets. An occasional one-off, which I refer to as my “one-shot deal”.

There is some yoga. A few favourite postures stolen from Niki’s hot yoga class, and adapted to suit my evil design. Plenty of luxurious rests, usually in the form of stretches. You won’t be going home without my personal favourite, Corpse Pose. So don’t worry.

Mucho high-rep ab work with stretches between. It’s a proven fact, it’ll make you a better lover:)

Ciao, Pietro

Adding Core N Stretch, And Hot Yoga Filling Up

CORE N STRETCH is every Saturday 10 a.m. as of October 8, at Panacea Studio. Taught by yours truly, a.k.a. Pietro.

I do this for me. And it’s what you need too. Who wouldn’t benefit from an effective abs workout, and intensive stretch? George St. Pierre maybe, not even.

Core gets badly neglected. Squeeze the fat and cellulite right out of your belly and thighs. Thereby messaging your primary organs. This does wonders for the health of your lungs, liver, pancreas, as well as enhancing your sex appeal and endurance.

Your colon will thank you too.

I call the stretch “intensive” because it involves deep muscle-isolating postures for major joints such as hips, groin, spine, neck, wrists, hamstrings… between high-rep chiselling of your abs.

Panacea Studio is offering $6 a class with 10 pack. $15 for walk-ins. The package is good for both the Wednesday night Hot Yoga class, and Saturday morning CORE N STRETCH classes starting October 8.

Reserve your spot for Wednesday now. Space is limited.

Ciao friends, Pietro

The Great Adventure Of The Body

Sure, no one diet is right for everyone. Such an extravagant claim should be looked upon with skepticism.

In the last few decades, I went from meat-eater to vegetarian to vegan to full-on raw foodest for one entire decade. Just recently I made a conscious decision to eat seafood, and goat cheese.

And it had nothing to do with what Dr. Oz says. For the sake of my B 12’s and certain proteins, I started ordering fresh-catch on holidays.

Now it’s an infatuation. I catch myself fantasizing about my next indulgence. I’ve never eaten fish before. I hated seafood as a kid. And most of my adult life has been spent as a vegetarian.

My clients haven’t minded.

Sooner or later, you alter the pattern. I’m in the pattern-altering business. Replacing redundant habits with beneficial ones, incrementally. And enjoying the process.

For example, some people need to grow to love their workouts, or working out in general. You can’t push them. If they haven’t worked out most their life, of course their body doesn’t feel like moving much. They have to be slyly coaxed out, and given a gentle nudge in the right direction at just the right moment.

Hot Yoga is starting Wednesday, September 14, at 7:30 pm. Let me know how it looks for you, my yoga friends, and even you unfortunate souls who haven’t tried Niki’s class yet.

$6 a class with 10 pack. Complementary fruit plate and ice tea. Good company.
